What is the Advanced Power BI Training Program?

Who is this training designed for?

The program is designed for Power BI users who already have basic Power BI knowledge and want to develop more advanced data transformation, modeling, DAX, reporting, and deployment skills.

How long is the training?

The training is delivered over 3 days, with 6 hours per day, for a total of 18 training hours.

What will I learn about Power Query?

You will learn intermediate and advanced data transformation techniques, including merging and appending queries, combining files, parameters, error handling, and an introduction to the M language for custom transformations.

Will the training cover data modeling?

Yes. You will learn how to design effective Power BI data models, including fact and dimension tables, star schemas, relationships, cardinality, filtering, granularity, and date tables.

Will I learn DAX from the beginning?

he program includes a review of DAX fundamentals and then progresses to advanced topics such as CALCULATE, FILTER, ALL, REMOVEFILTERS, iterators, TOPN, ranking, variables, and dynamic analysis.

What is CALCULATE, and why is it included?

CALCULATE is one of the most important DAX functions for modifying filter context. The training provides practical examples of CALCULATE and common patterns used for advanced Power BI analysis.

Will the training cover advanced Power BI reports and dashboards?

Yes. Participants will learn how to build interactive and professional reports using charts, KPIs, slicers, drill-down, drill-through, tooltips, bookmarks, conditional formatting, and interactive navigation.

Will report design and dashboard best practices be covered?

Yes. The program covers report layout, consistent formatting, visual selection, executive dashboard design, usability, and performance considerations.

Will I learn how to publish reports to Power BI Service?

Yes. Day 3 covers publishing reports from Power BI Desktop, managing published reports, data refresh, and key Power BI Service considerations.

Does the course cover data refresh?

Yes. Participants will learn about Power BI data refresh, scheduled refresh, and important considerations when maintaining refreshed reports.

Does the training cover Row-Level Security (RLS)?

Yes. The course covers both static and dynamic Row-Level Security, including USERNAME() and USERPRINCIPALNAME(), testing security roles, and managing RLS after publishing.

Is the training practical or theoretical?

The training is designed to be practical and hands-on, with demonstrations, exercises, and practical scenarios that allow participants to apply Power BI techniques throughout the program.

What tools are required for the training?

Participants should have access to Power BI Desktop. Access to Power BI Service may also be required for the publishing, refresh, and security sections.
